Lexington Field Lexington Field Live Midwest Missile Tour

2012 Midwest Missile Tour Breakdown: Part Two

After an off day in St. Louis where we plan on consuming more BBQ and go to a St. Louis Cardinals game, we get back in business on Wednesday, August 8.  Here is what’s happening from St. Louis to Chicago!

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 8 – ST. LOUIS, MO – PLUSH
One of the first people to review “Poor Troubled Life”, a positive one too, was Randall from over at Rocking The Craic. He is from St. Louis and recommended we should play with a local Celtic Rock act Rusty Nail.  After working out the details with Chad from Rusty Nail we were able to land a really cool, newer venue called Plush for Wednesday night.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 9 – INDIANAPOLIS, INTHE RATHSKELLER
I recently just visited the great state of Indiana and while it was super hot, everyone I met was very friendly and in desperate need to hear some American Fiddle Rock.  By the way, I’m a pretty good at knowing when there is a lack of American Fiddle Rock.  The Rathskeller is a venue in downtown Indianapolis located in a historic building called the Athenaeum Building.  We will be playing there with Indianapolis Celtic Rockers Highland Reign in the beer garden.   We have family and friends to stay with and can’t wait to be at a home away from home.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 10 – MIDLOTHIAN, IL – SULLIVAN’S
Last year, in an “Old Dirt Road” review on CELTIC-FOLK-PUNK, we were compared to this band from Chicago called The Fisticuffs.  Well, a year later we get to play four shows with them on our Midwest Missile Tour!  The first one will be in a suburb of Chicago called Midlothian.   Joining us on the show is a punk band called The Ridgelands.    This looks to be a high energy show, perfect for a Midwest Friday night!

SATURDAY, AUGUST 11 – RACINE, WI – MCAULIFFE’S
So I thought Milwaukee would be an easy date to book…boy, was I wrong!  The lack of response from every venue was surprising and very annoying.  I noticed our good friends the Young Dubliners have played this pub in Racine (a town between Chicago and Milwaukee and home of the Racine Belles)  called McAuliffe’s.  If it is good enough for the Dubs, it’s good enough for us and The Fisticuffs!

SUNDAY, AUGUST 12 – MADISON, WI – HIGH NOON SALOON
Everyone tells us Madison is the best city and we will have a blast there.  Time to put that to a test!   High Noon Saloon was one of the first venues we talked to and we are really looking forward to this show.  Illinois Celtic Rockers, the Screw City Saints, will join us and The Fisticuffs, along with Madison Folk Rock sensation The American Dead for one hell of a party!

MONDAY, AUGUST 13 – CHICAGO, IL – REGGIE’S MUSIC JOINT
Unfortunately we don’t get to spend too much time in Madison because we have to head over to Chicago on Monday!  We only got to a suburb, this time we get the city.    Reggie’s Music Joint popped on the radar because, one, The Mighty Regis rocked there earlier this year, and two, the venue is legit and we thought regardless the day of the week any show there would be awesome.  This will be our fourth show with The Fisticuffs, and we hope they don’t get sick of us by then.  That hasn’t seem to happen yet with Hoist the Colors or Ramshackle Army…tour tattoo?
