JANUARY 9, 2012 - HAPPY NEW YEAR & PTL PREVIEW!
We hope the holidays were a good one and you are ready for 2012! A couple of cool things to announce. First, Old Dirt Road made two Top Albums of 2011 lists! The site CELTIC-FOLK-PUNK, out of Spain, voted us in at #8 and we made #11 over at PaddyRock.com!
We are really stoked to be included among some really, really good
records from some talented bands and want to thank both CELTIC-FOLK-PUNK
and PADDYROCK.COM for your hard work and commitment to the Celtic Rock
community. Also, CELTIC-FOLK-PUNK did an interesting breakdown that
included a cumulative score of ranking the top albums from different
Celtic Rock sites where we finished at #9 overall - check it out here. We can't wait to see where Poor Troubled Life lines up for 2012.
Speaking of Poor Troubled Life,
we have decided to put up two songs, one in January, and the other in
February, to give you all a little taste of the new EP set to be
released March 13, 2012 on New Folk Records. The first song we are gonna preview is now up on our Facebook & MySpace
pages. It's called "Galway Bay" and it is our take on an old Clancy
Brothers parody. It gives you a little taste of the new Lexington Field
attitude and exemplifies our American Fiddle Rock style. We hope you
enjoy it and we can't wait to release the whole thing real soon!
At the end of 2010, we put together this three-part series of slideshows set to the music of Braveheart.
It was so much fun to put together and look back at everything we did,
that we wanted to do it again for 2011. So, to the same epic music of Braveheart, we made a three-part 2011 Year In Review Slideshow series. Check it out on our Video page or over on our YouTube Years in Review playlist.
So, watch the videos (don't forget there are also video blogs posted about the making of Poor Troubled Life),
take a listen to "Galway Bay", and if you are in Orange County, come
see us rock out with our buddies Hoist The Colors at Clancy's in Long
Beach on Friday, January 13!
DECEMBER 22, 2011 - POOR TROUBLED LIFE COVER
Happy Holidays from Lexington Field! We hope you all have a wonderful holiday season. Our new EP, Poor Troubled Life, is now finished, off to the presses, and sounds absolutely awesome! Derek Dawson did an amazing job over at Static Studio (bands make sure to check it out to record, we highly recommend it). We can't wait for you to hear it, Poor Troubled Life is our most rockin effort yet! We will preview a couple songs off of Poor Troubled Life in the next couple months before its official release on New Folk Records
on March 13, 2012. There will be a couple more video blogs about the
recording session posted in the following weeks too. But, as a little
Christmas present to you all, we would love to show you the cover of our
new record. Our good friend Jose Pimienta, the very talented artist who created the artwork for Old Dirt Road, returned to make the art for Poor Troubled Life and he hit another home run! Ladies and gentlemen, we would love to present to you the cover to our brand new album:
NOVEMBER 21, 2011 - A VERY THANKFUL YEAR
Happy
Thanksgiving! This has been one hell of a year for us and we are not
quite finished yet! We just finished up tracking our new, six-song EP, Poor Troubled Life, for New Folk Records!
It is now in the mixing and mastering process and we can't wait for
you to hear this record! In the coming weeks, we will post more video
blogs from the recording sessions, release the cover art (done by Old Dirt Road artist Jose Pimienta),
and perhaps a sneak peak of one of the songs. We would also like to
thank the Lexington Field Choir for returning to the studio to do some
group vocals and give major props to Derek Dawson for engineering this
project. We had a very positive experience with Derek at Static Studio and recommend it for all bands looking for a great room and professional sound.
And
just when you thought recording was finished, we have just thrown you a
curveball! We are currently in the process of recording an acoustic
EP, featuring songs played during Lexington Field Lite shows and some
different other tunes off the beaten path of American Fiddle Rock.
Initially, we will be doing an online release and hopefully have it
ready soon, holding you over until Poor Troubled Life comes out in early 2012. We will be announcing more news on this record in the coming weeks too!
On
top of all this, we are in the process of organizing our first quarter
of 2012 and next year is going to be a big one! In the meantime, we
have two more shows left this year before we take a break for the
holidays. The final full-band show of 2011 will be on Friday, December 9
at Hooley's in Rancho San Diego! Make sure you come get your American
Fiddle Rock fix taken care, so you will be ready to go for next year.
Then, the following night, Saturday, December 10 we will be playing a
special Christmas acoustic set at Cosmos Coffee Cafe in La Mesa at 7 PM,
during La Mesa's annual "Christmas in the Village"! That show will be
all-ages, so bring the kids and come celebrate Christmas with Lexington
Field!
We have so much to be thankful for this year...Putting out our our debut, full-length album Old Dirt Road, playing to thousands of people at shamROCK on St. Patrick's Day, opening multiple shows for Irish rock heavyweights - the Young Dubliners, meeting some great bands such as the Ramshackle Army and Hoist the Colors, joining Uncleowen Records out of Japan, working with our super cool sponsor LuteHole, putting out a kick-ass music video for "Tracy Boys Fight the World", witnessing the birth of country legends Midwest Missile,
playing tons of shows and meeting so many great people, signing our
first record contract with an awesome and respected label, New Folk
Records, and going back to the studio to record more Lexington Field
original music! Most of all, thank you so much for joining us in this
journey to introduce Lexington Field and our American Fiddle Rock to the
world! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
OCTOBER 28, 2011 - POOR TROUBLED LIFE RECORDING BEGINS!
After a weekend of awesome shows with our friends Hoist the Colors, we have commenced back into the studio to record our debut 6-song EP, Poor Troubled Life, for our new label New Folk Records!!! We chose Static Studio
in San Diego to track the 6-song album. Derek Dawson is the engineer
and after the first week of recording we are very impressed with his
handle on the project and the sweet tones coming from Static. We are
really excited to have this EP ready along with Old Dirt Road
for national release in early 2012 and will have some previews up
online before that. During the process we will be posting pictures from
our sessions and a series of video blogs documenting the whole making
of Poor Troubled Life. We want you to experience as much of the process as possible. Enjoy!
Also, mark your calendar's for Saturday, November 12 as we play a new San Diego venue called The Griffin.
We will be celebrating Beau's birthday that night so make sure to show
up and prevent Beau from driving home! Our good friends Just Like Jenna along with Shrewd Lucy, Future Falls, and Trusting Havoc will also take the stage. It will be one hell of a party!

endured was worth it. We can't wait to embark on sharing our new album
with as many people as possible. We love these songs so much, and we
think you will too! There are so many people to thank...first, props to
Kyle Thompson, John Cota, Ian Woodward, and Patrick Heaney for
engineering the record. Kyle "Dr. K" also did an amazing job mixing the
thousands of tracks we recorded over two months. Kyle works with Paul
Abbott at Iconic Audio and thanks to Paul for mastering our record, making it clean and enhanced exactly the way we wanted. We tracked the record at Archival Sound and Secret Cedar,
two studios we recommend for local San Diego musicians. Thanks to Dana
at Secret Cedar for keeping the guys in check. Thanks to Ryan Stowers
for doing the band promo pics (one of which is in the album), Annie Haynes and Mike Starkey for your live photos at shamROCK 2011, and of course Jose Pimienta who provided his spectacular artistic talent for the album artwork. Jose really captured the essence of the Old Dirt Road,
and we were all blown away by the artwork he created. Thanks to Odell
Hobson for his viola contributions to the album and his vocals on
"Weathered Heart". Thanks to Trevor Vaught and Miles Soboleski for
directing and putting together our new music video for "Tracy Boys Fight
the World" and Ross and the Shakedown Bar for letting us rock there!

and this plans to be the biggest one for us yet. We will be playing two
shows on St. Patrick's Day this year. The first one will be our third
annual St. Patty's Day gig at Henry's Pub on 5th Avenue in downtown San
Diego. We will be rocking out and getting warmed up from 4 to 7 PM.
Then we will cruise over to the biggest party on St. Patrick's Day in
San Diego - shamROCK 2011!!! We will be taking the stage from 9 to 10
PM and we are so excited to have this opportunity! Also playing the
show will be The Shamrockers, The Fooks, The Young Dubliners, and the

Firehouse Brewery in Mission Valley to play the Existence Gives Back
event at 6 PM. Check out our shows page for all the details. This is
definitely a month to see us live!
Our new album Old Dirt Road is
almost ready. We just received the first draft mixes and we are about a
week or so away from mastering. Once we get the final masters back, we
will put them online so you can check out what we have been working so
hard on over the last three months. While we might be biased, this
record is unbelievable and we so proud of these songs. Next week we
will release the album cover, which looks fantastic! It's been a long
wait, but it will be so worth it.
Finally,
if you haven't heard through the grapevine yet, our great friend and
fellow Lexington Fielder, Odell Hobson, aka "The Black Fiddler" has
moved on and left the band after four unforgettable years rocking out
with us. We just wanted to thank Odell for all the hard work,
dedication, and love he put into this band and it was an honor for all
of us to work with him. We wish Odell the best of luck in his future
endeavors and know that "The Black Fiddler" will continue to rock on!
January 28, 2011 - I CAN'T DIE TODAY
Our new album Old Dirt Road is almost finished tracking and it has been one long process!
From writing it, to rehearsing it, to finally recording it, this last
year has been very busy and challenging one. We have truly appreciated
your patience as we embarked on this journey to record our full-length
album. So, a couple weeks ago we wrote and recorded a song to hold you
over until Old Dirt Road is ready. We decided to release it as a single and it is now available to purchase on iTunes
for your listening pleasure. "I Can't Die Today" is a folk song Bryan
wrote about living a good life, yet not quite ready to move on to what
is next. We decided to release as a single because it didn't quite fit with Old Dirt Road, but we still wanted to share it with you. We hope you enjoy it and stay tuned for our new album coming out real soon!
January 19, 2011 - LEXINGTON FIELD WOULD LIKE TO ANNOUNCE...
We
have some big news to announce. We have just confirmed our St.
Patrick's Day schedule and we are very excited to tell you that we will be playing the 14th Annual shamROCK
in downtown San Diego with the Young Dubliners, the Fooks, and the
Down's Family!!! This is the largest St. Patrick's Day block party in
all of San Diego and we are honored to finally get to play this event.
We go on from 9 to 10 pm on the Main Stage. Buy your tickets and get
ready for the biggest Lexington Field show ever! We also will be
playing Henry's Pub
that afternoon to get warmed up for the big night. It will be the
third straight year we have played there and it is always good times!
As for our new album Old Dirt Road,
we are almost done tracking! It's been an extremely long process
between three studios, four engineers, and countless hours of hard work,
and we can't tell you how excited we are to share the new music with
you. We just finished all the vocals last week at Secret Cedar Studios
in Santee and now return to Archival Sound next weekend to finish the
last fiddle tracks and then on to mixing and mastering with Iconic
Audio. We have been doing video blogs to document the process, so check
them out on our YouTube channel.
A new song called "I Can't Die Today" emerged this last week, has been
recorded, and will be released as a single. It will get stuck in your
head for sure. Stay tuned for more news, this year is just getting
started!!!
December 28, 2010 - LEXINGTON FIELD 2010 YEAR IN REVIEW
2010
was great year for Lexington Field. To help us always remember it, we
put together a three-part photo montage set to the music of Braveheart
for your viewing pleasure. So much happened this year from headlining
the Belly Up Tavern on St. Patrick's Day to releasing our 5-song EP "The
Streets of Dover", opening for the Young Dubliners, adding Casey (bass)
and Vincent (drums) to the team, going on a memorable trip to Vegas
where we got to share the stage with the Tossers, the Mahones, the Happy
Campers and Seven Nations, played tons of shows, opened for Buck-O-Nine
at the Casbah, played our first show at SOMA with the Voodoo Glow
Skulls and started recording our debut full-length record "Old Dirt
Road"!!! So much has happened and we have set the groundwork in place
for an amazing 2011. Enjoy the slide shows and we will see you next

we hit the road for Las Vegas!!! We will be playing two shows out in
Sin City. The first one will be Friday night at the Double Down Saloon!

other awesome bands (Three Chord Radio, Drawback, and Goodyear). After

Sunset Park for the Age of Chivalry Renaissance Festival. Tickets are

11:30 AM!!! Also playing the festival will be some amazing bands such
as The Tossers, The Mahones, and Seven Nations. What a weekend huh? It
is our kickoff to the rest of the year which will be filled with more
shows and some big news coming up! Viva Las Vegas! Sláinte!
September 2, 2010 - THE NEXT CHAPTER AND CELTIC CHAOS 2010
If
you haven't heard yet, Lexington Field has added two new members to the
ranks. Before we get to that, we would like to say THANK YOU to our
best friend and Lexington Field drummer, Brinton Ward. Brinton played
his last regular show with us on August 27. Brinton has played
hundreds of shows, recorded three albums, has been with us since 2006,
and will always have a special place in the band! While "Big
Bad BW" will still play shows with us from time to time, he is handing
over regular duties to Vincent West. Vincent hails from Descanso, CA
and rocks the drums in the San Diego band Just Like Jenna.
Not only will he be providing the beats, Vince is also a bagpiper on
the side, so stay tuned for the multi-instrumentalist to bring diversity
and energy that are staples for Lexington Field. We are excited to
have Vince part of the team.
We
also want to thank Brendan Malone, who played bass with us in 2010.
Brendan is moving on to some other projects and finishing up college in
pursuit of joining the police force. We are gonna miss Brendan's
antics, personality, and "one-of-a-kind" stage presence. Brendan holds
the title for only Lexington Field member with an actual Irish last
name! Taking over for Brendan will be local punk rocker Casey Jones.
And, no, he is not the same hockey enthusiast Casey Jones from the
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Casey has been playing in local San Diego
punk bands for the last 10 years and brings an attitude and aggressive
bass playing style to the forefront. We can't wait to have someone
other than Beau knocking things over on stage. Welcome aboard Casey!
We
have been real busy getting Vince and Casey ready, and they will be
making their debut Friday, September 3 at JT's Pub. Make sure to come
say "hi" and welcome them to the community of Lexington Field. Speaking
of shows, we are really excited to announce CELTIC CHAOS 2010. This year features an awesome lineup including Los Angeles Irish rockers - The Mighty Regis, rockabilly heavyweights - the Hard Fall Hearts, your favorite Irish American Punk Rockers - Lexington Field, and the talented traditional group - the Cameron Highlanders Pipe Band of San Diego County.
This year's event will be at Brick by Brick on Friday, September 17,
the official Halfway to St. Patty's Day. Doors open at 8 PM and tickets
are only $10. Email us at info@lexingtonfield.com to purchase tickets
from us or go to www.brickbybrick.com to buy them online. This is going to be an amazing show, and we would love for all of you to make it out to the party!
One
last thing, we have spent much of the summer writing new songs and we
will be debuting some of them at upcoming shows over the next few
months. This is in anticipation for some exciting news that we plan on
sharing with everyone at the end of September. So, stay tuned because
the next chapter of Lexington Field is an exciting one indeed. Sláinte!
06/10/10 - A
BIG MONTH INDEED
We only have two shows this month, but they are going to be
two of the biggest shows of the year! The first one is on Friday, June
18 at one of the best venues in town, the Belly Up Tavern. We will be
playing with one of the best and renown Irish Rock bands in the country -
The Young Dubliners!!! Tickets are $22 and can be purchased at www.bellyup.com. We are honored to share the
stage with such an influential band to us. Our second show will be two
days later at the San Diego County Fair on Sunday, June 20. What a
great way to spend Father's Day watching Lexington Field on the Paddock
Stage from noon to 2 PM, then go eat turkey legs, fried Snickers bars,
and jumbo pickles galore. Come to one of these exciting shows and start
the summer off with a bang!
5/4/10 - ONLINE STORE OPEN FOR BUSINESS

We would like to thank everyone who came out to the For The Love Of Laurel Benefit concert a couple weeks ago at Tango Del Rey. With your help and we were able to raise almost $5,000 for Laurel to go toward her medical expenses. She is one awesome girl and is putting up an amazing fight against this tough disease. Please go to www.fortheloveoflaurel.org for more information and if you want to donate and help out Laurel and her family.
We recently went into the studio to help our buddy Ryan out with his recording class at the Art Institute of California-San Diego. We tracked a new song called "Singin' Joe". We will be doing vocals in a few weeks and will put it up online for your listening pleasure as soon as it is done. So far so good!

3/17/10 - HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!!
3/3/10 - MARCH MADNESS
March Madness is an understatement. It should be called March Insanity. This is by far the biggest month in the history of the band and we have so much news its hard to know where to start. So, buckle your seat belts and get ready for some Lexington Field!!!
ST. PATRICK'S DAY
CELEBRATION
St. Patrick's Day is like Christmas
to Lexington Field. This year we will be our biggest one yet. We
start off in the wee hours of the morning on 1090 AM with our GREAT FRIENDS
Scott Kaplan and Billy Ray Smith from the Scott
& BR Show. We performed live on air last year as Fiffin Market
and we are real excited to come back this year as Lexington Field.
After the radio show we head to the Gaslamp District to play a matinee
show at Henry's Pub
from 1 to 4 PM. Again, we did this last year and had a blast. Nothing
like a pint and some Irish music to get your day started for the grand
celebration. If you are downtown, make sure to come by and have a few
rounds. So far this is a pretty great St. Patrick's Day being on the
radio and playing downtown...BUT WAIT, THERE IS MORE...Ladies and
Gentleman, it is now time for the Main Event! We will be headlining the
BELLY UP TAVERN!!!
The show starts at 8:00 PM and will feature Weezer tribute band GEEZER,
the beautiful ladies of the CABURLESQUE
KITTENS, and the talented DJ MAN-CAT, and of course your favorite Irish band
LEXINGTON FIELD!!! The show is presented by BFD Productions
and will be, by far, our biggest show yet. Tickets are only $8 online
at www.bellyup.com
or $10 at the door. We are anticipating a sellout, so please get your
tickets early. What a day huh? Not only are we going to be celebrating
St. Patrick's Day, we will also be having a party for the release of...
THE STREETS OF DOVER
The first release of Lexington Field will be coming out on St. Patrick's Day!!! It is a five-song EP called The Streets of Dover. We can't wait to finally have some Lexington Field music finally available to our fans. Here are the five songs and some notes about each of them. It will be available at shows on March 17th and online in April.
1. Tracy Boys Fight The World - This is an original Lexington Field song that captures our energy and essence of what we are known for. If you like upbeat Irish music that is catchy and makes you want to dance, then this is your song. It is is about a gang of scrappers and is inspired by "Fighting Bill Tracy from Dover", a character from the classic tune "The Irish Rover" (on Fiffin Market's The Lighthouse)
2. The Fields of Athenry - Many bands have played this song in Irish pubs across the world. It is practically Ireland's national anthem. One of our favorite versions is by Boston punk rockers the Dropkick Murphys. We listened, we admired, we took notes, and decided to give the world our version of this classic. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do playing it!
3. Drunken Sailor - As Fiffin Market, we recorded our take of another classic and fan favorite "Drunken Sailor". It is on The Lighthouse. We also did a music video to this song which you can see on YouTube right now. Well, we remastered it and it is more rockin than ever. What will you do with a drunken sailor?
4. The Toledo Tapper - Another alumni track we decided to remaster and include on The Streets of Dover is our original jig "The Toledo Tapper". Talk about wanting to dance - this is your song! Cami shines on the fiddle and the song is named after her hometown.
5. The Spirit of Lexington Field - This song was written by Beau back in 2005 for his grandfather who lost his bravely fought battle with cancer. It was the inspiration behind the name of our band and we are proud and honored to present you this version of a song that means so much to us. The song ends with the line "the story has now just begun"...fitting for this band and anyone who knows us.
SANDIEGOPUNK.COM BAND OF THE MONTH
We recently got chosen as SanDiegoPunk.com's band of the month for March! We are excited to join the San Diego punk community...finally! As band of the month, we also did an interview. You can read it HERE. This site has been around for years and has done an awesome job of supporting the San Diego music scene. Add it to your bookmarks if you want to learn about some great San Diego bands and go to some amazing shows around town that don't necessarily get all the hype from the local big dogs.
REQUEST LEXINGTON FIELD ON 94.9 FM
Our song "Drunken Sailor" was recently played on 94.9 FM!!! We want to continue that trend so please call their request line at 619-570-1949 and request "Tracy Boys Fight The World" or "Drunken Sailor". It's time for all of San Diego to hear Lexington Field!!!
On top of all that we have shows at Gallagher's, Hooley's, Hennessey's, and also will have brand new t-shirts and tank tops for sale in a few weeks. Major shows, a new record, interviews, radio play...just a day in the life for San Diego's #1 Irish Folk Punk Band - LEXINGTON FIELD
1/8/10 - A NEW YEAR TO ROCK
Welcome to 2010!!! We have a feeling this is going to be a big year for Lexington Field. We already have started off with a bang introducing two new recordings: "Tracy Boys Fight The World" and "The Fields Of Athenry". Our first show of the year is tonight at Hennessey's in Downtown San Diego. Hennessey's is one of our favorite venues downtown and a perfect place to kick off the new year. On Saturday, January 9, we will be traveling up to Colton, CA to play our first show at Liam's Irish Pub. We are excited to venture further out of San Diego County in 2010, so if you want us to come play at your town, let us know and we will see what we can do. We all had a well rested, relaxing holiday, but now its time to pick up our instruments, pick up our pints, and get ready to party Lexington Field style! And, one last thing, GO CHARGERS!! See you at the shows.
12/29/09 - NEW SONGS!!!
First of all, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Lexington Field! Second, as a holiday gift to all of our fans, we have posted two brand new Lexington Field songs online for your listening pleasure. These two songs will be part of our next album set to come out in 2010. They are both upbeat and get the blood pumping to move your feet and/or have another round. One song is an LF original called "Tracy Boys Fight The World". It's about the Tracy boys running the town, getting the girls, and fighting anyone an arm's length away. With inspiration from one of our favorite bands, the Dropkick Murphys, we also took a stab at "The Fields Of Athenry". This is a classic Irish tune and we hope you like our interpretation. You can find these songs on MySpace, Facebook, iLike, and our Music page. We are so excited to share our new music and give you a sneak peek into what we have in store for you guys in the near future. Have a very safe holiday season and we will see you in January 2010 with a full schedule and ready to rock!
12/03/09 - HOLIDAY HAPPENINGS
Greetings and Happy Holidays from Lexington Field!
As we approach the end of 2009, we wanted to thank everyone that has contributed to our success this year. We have played numerous shows, drank hundreds of pints of beer, and have been given several opportunities to play at exciting new venues with other talented musicians to our amazing fans.
As we approach 2010, we are eager to pick up where we left off; rocking all year long with our distinct Irish-folk-punk sound. To keep it exciting, we have decided to go into the studio and record two brand new songs just for you, as a little teaser to a brand new album we plan on releasing next year! So, new music, new merch, and more shows are in the near future you Lexington Fielders, so stay tuned...
From all of us here in Lexington Field, we wish you a safe and a Happy Holiday! We will raise our pints in your honor!
11/03/09 - NOVEMBER HAPPENINGS
So its been a slow few weeks. At least that is the appearance we have had from a show perspective. First of all, we have two members down on the DL right now. Bryan is recovering from major knee surgery and should be back in action playing shows in by the end of November. Tony had an accident at work messing up his arm and will be out for awhile too. In the meantime we are preparing to go back in the studio in late November/December to first record three songs, then another three early next year to complete a new EP we plan on releasing before St. Patrick's Day 2010. We are extemely excited to share the new stuff with you and we might be breaking in some of the songs at some near future shows. We have four shows booked this month. All of them are in the downtown area (11/13 @ The Field, 11/14 @ Hennessey's, 11/20 @ Hennessey's, amd 11/21 @ Java Jones). There is a ton of stuff happening in the background right now as we prepare for a very exciting 2010. So, thanks for your patience and come hang out with us at the shows this month.
